Council Elections
Council elections are those which take place to elect local government representatives. Those elected to the local council are known as "councillors" or "council officers". Council elections are also known as municipal elections in some jurisdictions. Local councils are generally responsible for providing local services such as waste collection, as well as maintaining public parks and libraries.
